Stencil Experiments Part 1

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today I have two cards to show you both featuring beautiful stencils by Create a Smile.

Over the years I collected different kinds of embossing and glimmer paste. With all the fabulous stencils Create a Smile is offering I thought it was a good idea to make a comparison.

For the first card shown above I used a translucent embossing paste. I mixed it with ink from ink pads. For this example I've chosen pale ink colors and went with a rainbow order. This way you get a subtle and shine through effect.

Here is my second card:

Here I used a glimmer paste by Nuvo and brighter colours. As you can see the background is much brighter. The glitter is very noticable and shines in various colours.

When you have backgrounds like these your card don't need much more. So all Idid was stamping, colouring and fussy cutting some critters and heat emboss a sentiment.

Next week I have two more cards with similar but different backgrounds to show you. Hope you will come back.

Cutie Pawstie

Hi everyone and welcome back to our crafty space.
Raluca here with a new card showcasing the super cute "Bear Mail" stamp set.

I'm in love with this cute stamp set, so after my last play with it (when I transformed one of the sweet bears into a Panda bear) I decided to color the other bear as a Polar bear and create a clean and simple card.

* First I stamped, colored and fussy cut the image for my card. For coloring I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
* Next I die cut a white panel with the largest stitched rectangle die and stamped the Cloudy Day stamp using a teal ink pad/
* I mounted the panel on a light blue card base using craft foam.
* Then I white embossed a sentiment from the set on a black strip of cardstock and mounted it on the card.
* Next I mounted the image using foam tape, I glued a few clear sequins and my card was done!

Bearcause, I can't be with you today........

It's Anja, again with another card for you today featuring the lovely Bearmail stamps.

I wanted to make an interactive card using the new posted edge circles. That little postbear was the perfect image for my card.

I started by diecutting the three biggest circles from the dieset out of copic friendly cardstock.
I stamped the image on all three of the circles and colored them. Placed the circles on top of eachother and adhered them with a bard so you can turn them like a puzzle.
I diecut another circle from some white cardstock and folded the upperpart to adhere it to the circles so I could make a card out of it.

Gather The Copics - Part 1!

Hey everyone! Today, I've dug out my copics which I've been ignoring for a while because I've been watercolouring almost everything. So, I thought it would be a great challenge for me to give my copics some love again and try to make cards for the next few weeks using copics.

Of course, to start, I had to make it a rainbow card. I've gathered the copic colours I wanted to use first. Next, I've just coloured my white cardstock with streaks of colours.

Next, using my paper trimmer, I've trim them all into strips of paper. Keeping the width all the same but the length varies and fill the card base.

Next, I've die cut those postage edge circles and added the sentiment. To finish the card, I've sort of embellish it with splatters of black ink.

Making the World Bright Card

Hi there!
Samantha here today, and I'm sharing a card that would be fun to give to a friend who may be having a hard time, or just because!

I really loooooove those stars and cloud images!! They're soooo sweet! So instead of making a baby card, I made this fun, pick me up card!

Let's make this card together!

- stamp and color your image! I colored my image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers!
- once dry, fussy cut out!
- on a separate piece of cardstock, watercolor your night sky! I used Gansai Tambi Watercolors, because I wanted a rich, navy sky! I'm totally digging navy lately!

- once it was dry, I flicked on some white actrylic paint for stars

- some of the images were popped up with foam tape, and some glued directly to the sky
- I heat embossed the part of the sentiment with a navy pigment ink, and the other part with Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Inks and clear embossing powder!

My watercolored sky was done on a separate piece of paper, and then ripped down the side before adding it to the card base. But if you didn't want the extra layer, you could color directly onto the card front! Or change up the colors for a pretty setting sun theme!!

I am in love that sweet baby set called Welcome Baby, so sweet! The sentiment is from the Color Your Heart Out set! I thought it was perfect for this fun card!!

hallo baby

Hello everyone, Nicole here. I'm still making baby cards because I need so many.

I just went through my stash and found that cute chick that was perfect for a baby card. I like baby cards that aren't just blue or pink ;-)

  1. create the background with the stencil and Distress Ink, I turned my stencil a bit to get even more rays.
  2. use some green paper and die cut a grass border, give it some depth with a bit of Distress Ink at the bottom
  3. Stamp your sentiment on the grass
  4. stamp, color and fussy cut your critter. I added a bit of Glossy Accents on the beak.
  5. stamp the clowds with a light gray ink
  6. to add some interest on the clowds, I used Nuvo Glitter Accents "fresh snowfall"
  7. a little banner in the same color as the chicks hearts on his head gives the card a bit of interest as well

Lovely Critters / just saying hello * nur mal hallo sagen / Stencil: focal point / welcome baby
